COMMUNITY SERVICE UPDATE – COLLECTING DONATIONS FOR EMERGE! CENTER AGAINST DOMESTIC ABUSE
(www.emergecenter.org)

Established in April 2008 as a result of the merger between the Tucson Centers for Women and Children (founded in 1975) and the Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services (founded in 1963), Emerge! operates two emergency shelters in addition to providing crisis intervention, individual and group support, life skills development, housing support, prevention, a nationally accredited childcare center and community education.

Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse is dedicated to stopping the cycle of domestic abuse and providing an environment and resources for victims and survivors of all types of abuse on their journey toward healing and self empowerment.

Emerge! is seeking donations of new clothing for babies, women and children and new/unused toiletry items, as well as financial donations.  AWLA is asking members to bring any new clothes for babies, women or children, and/or new toiletries to the AWLA lunches that will be held in August, September and October, where there will be a collection box.

AWLA thanks all of its members for all their support for women and families in our Tucson community.
